Located in the constellation Cepheus 214 is part of a huge emission nebula. Like many nebula of this type it is a very active star nursery.

What's going on here? A Cederblad 214 egy hatalmas kiterjedésű emissziós ködösség a Cepheus csillagképben, pontosabban a Cepheus és a Cassiopeia határvidékén.

Cederblad 214 is the bright bloc within the surrounding curve of NGC 7822 in this wider field image taken last night, returning to an area I photographed in my last session. A region of considerable interest, the star cluster showing at the bottom of Ced 214 is named from yet another catalogue, Berkley 59.

Cederblad 214 and NGC 7822 create a cosmic wreath- a celestial Ouroboros that powerfully evince stellar life and death. Shown within this circle are clouds of dust, perhaps heavy in the ashes of exploded stars, and new-born radiative suns in clusters with umitigated luminosity. Query : Cederblad 214 C.D.S.

It contains the star cluster Berkeley 59 (bottom-left of centre in this image). The complex is believed to be some 800–1000 parsecs distant, with the younger components aged no more than a few million years.
